Street Dance Classes
I'm really nervous about going on my own, can you give me any advice?
Go! You won't regret it. Sometimes it is daunting going anywhere on your own, but these classes are full of people that came on their own at first (usually nervous as well!) but once you are there you will be fine. Our classes are lively, fun and full of good music. Basically, stop worrying as you will never know if you don't try.
I don't want to look silly in front of people, what do I do? Our advice is to come along and bring a friend if it helps. You need to push past your fears and focus on what you want to do/passionate about. If you don't you will be preventing yourself from doing something you want to do, and which could turn out to be really good for you as you relax, meet others and begin to progress...you will feel great!
How do I pay for the class?A drop in classes is 'pay as you go', whilst the membership classes are pay in advanced. The membership classes will allow you to pay as you go for your first few sessions before you make the decision to pay in advance.
Membership class or drop in? Which is better? The drop in is for casual students who just want to 'drop in' as and when they can. The membership class is the real deal. We take you through different grade levels to really help you progress with your dancing, there are opportunities to perform, compete, discounts, teacher training options for those that want to teach, and so much more.
What do I wear? For street dance it is best to wear comfortable clothes - baggy clothes are the most common for Hip Hop but whatever you feel best dancing in. Tight fitting, flat soled shoes are good. Try to keep jewellery to a minimum to avoid accidents and to keep your shoes tied tight as to help avoid twisting ankles.
Do classes run every week? All of our classes run in approximately 3 x 12 week terms, just like the academic school year. During the half term/end of term breaks we run workshops with some of the world's best teachers and during the summer and other holidays we run our Summer School. For the class term Dates click here.
How fit do I need to be? As fit as you like. The classes are a great workout so whether you want to lose weight or get fit, try your best and achieve the results you seek. Some people who really put 100% in get hot and sweaty, so keeping yourself hydrated is very important. Bring a bottle of water or use the fountains/vending machines provided.
I want to come along just to watch is that ok?Yes that is fine to come along and watch to see if you like it. Be sure not to disturb those in class.
